The FY 22-23 City Work Program (CWP) Support for the Unhoused Item includes an updated objective to continue the City’s FY 21-22 CWP City Plan to End Homelessness effort. The City is developing a City Plan to End Homelessness, an implementation plan to address the needs of the unhoused residents of Cupertino as identified in the Santa Clara County Community Plan to End Homelessness.

Santa Clara County Community Plan to End Homelessness
The Santa Clara County Community Plan to End Homelessness was developed collaboratively by representatives of community-based service organizations, local government, philanthropy, business, healthcare, and people with lived experience. For the next five years, this plan will guide the County, cities, nonprofits, and other community members as they make decisions about funding, programs, priorities, and needs.

2022 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count
Every two years communities across the country conduct comprehensive Point-In-Time (PIT) counts of their homeless populations to measure the prevalence of homelessness in their communities. Communities collect information on individuals and families sleeping in emergency shelters and transitional housing, as well as people sleeping on the streets, in cars, in abandoned properties, or in other places not meant for human habitation. The 2022 count will occur on February 23th & 24th, 2022 and the County is accepting volunteer applications now!
