Stevens Creek runs through McClellan Ranch Preserve, offering a unique opportunity to learn about water pollution prevention. Stevens Creek originates in the Santa Cruz Mountains and flows north for through Cupertino, Los Altos, Sunnyvale and Mountain View before emptying into San Francisco Bay. The creek supports life for many animals, including a federally listed threatened species of steelhead trout. In the video below, kids of all ages can learn about how what we do on land can impact the water in the creeks and how to help.

The Watershed Watch Campaign

The Watershed Watch Campaign is a public education initiative of the Santa Clara Valley Urban Runoff Pollution Prevention Program (SCVURPPP), an association of fifteen government agencies in Santa Clara Valley. The Campaign provides various education resources for residents, teacher, and students and is dedicated to raising awareness about protecting watersheds and preventing storm water pollution.

Our Water Our World

Our Water Our World is an award-winning partnership between city- and county-based water pollution prevention agencies and garden centers and hardware stores that sell pest control products. They focus on less-toxic, eco-friendly products and techniques because many common pesticides are harmful to sensitive species and ecosystems when they reach local creeks, bays, and the ocean.
