The project consists of improvements to the intersection of De Anza Boulevard and McClellan Road / Pacifica Drive and includes:

• Relocation of traffic signal mast arm poles
• Adjustment of vehicle movements to accommodate bicycle facilities
• Installation of a pedestrian crosswalk across De Anza Blvd on the south side of the intersection
• Relocation of adjacent public utilities

Phase 3 of the McClellan Road Separated Bikeways Project is underway. Construction activities will be completed by the end of June, assuming no unanticipated delays. Traffic in all directions is expected to be maintained during construction, but motorists can expect minor delays. Work hours are anticipated as follows:

• Construction work on eastbound McClellan Road - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Construction work on De Anza Boulevard – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Construction work on Pacifica Drive – 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

UPDATE:

On Wednesday, June 5th, starting at approximately 8:00 a.m., the traffic signals at the intersection of McClellan Road, De Anza Boulevard, and Pacifica Avenue will be nonfunctional for most of the day. The construction team estimates that this will last until 8 p.m. The Sheriff's Office will be directing traffic while the signals are out. This signal outage is required by the switchover from the old equipment to the new electrical infrastructure serving the intersection. Residents and businesses should expect traffic delays during this time.

The City of Cupertino was awarded $1 million for construction of the project through the Vehicle Emissions Reductions Based at Schools (VERBS) Program administered by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s (MTC) One Bay Area Safe Routes to School Program.
